The First Ramble.

Blogging has certainly caught on in today's world. To blog is to share one's viewpoint on things. To share. This is important because as the world has developed alternative means of communication, personal communication has declined. Perhaps everyone is so similar that there isn't really much to discuss. Or there is truly a "wall" between persons, between identities?

This year, TIME Magazine declared its person of the year to be YOU. The very reader of this blog is just as responsible as the one blogging it for the incredible changes in America and the world. It is very likely that without bloggers, the Democrats could have entered the 110th Congress as the minority party once again.

Bloggers have helped to expose Allen's racial slur, Conrad Burn's comment on terrorists in our midst, and even John Kerry's "botched joke." Allen and Burn have not been reelected. Kerry might have diminished all possibilities of the Democratic nomination. The power of the blogging system is certainly strong, but where would this power be without the politicians to ignite it? Everything remains in a balance, and a balance is how things are accomplished. Complete control is only temporary. When Republicans held control during Bush's time as president, it was obvious things got out of control. Thus Democrats now have the helm. Well, just barely. To have both parties cooperate with each other in Congress will truly be close to an authentic representation of the people. State Representatives do not only represent their state, but they also represent the country as well.

I am no expert when it comes to blogging. I have attempted to create blogs in the past, but all have since been abandoned. I believe this blog has a better chance of survival due to a joint- new-year's-resolution made with my aunt who will also attempt to keep her blog active and in existence. My above rambling is likely to be very disorganized and unclear, but I do hope that my skills (if any) improve.

I will leave you with this quote:

"In a gentle way, you can shake the world." - Mohandas Ghandi
